Chairman of the Possibility Party, Agron Shehaj, sees in the alliance of the new political parties with the protest representatives a real opportunity to win the Tirana Municipality. “We proposed last year too that we nominate an apolitical candidate for the Tirana Municipality. That formula practically did not work, because the elections were not held, but it is still valid today”, Shehaj stated.
According to him, the current situation has a new element, the protest and the citizens demanding change in the political class. For this reason, he believes cooperation should extend beyond political parties. Shehaj also stressed that it is important to expect the creation of a student representation, in order to have a concrete counterpart with whom discussions on a possible agreement can be held.
“If I were convinced that in the past elections a candidate supported by the whole opposition would win, today I say that a candidate supported only by the new parties and protesters is likely to win”, he stated.
Shehaj reiterated his readiness to cooperate with the new political forces and the protest representatives, leaving open the possibility of a joint formula for the race in Tirana. “We are open to cooperation. When they want, we are ready”, Shehaj concluded.
