The well-known Albanian artist Capital T has reacted to the protests in Albania, conveying a message about institutional responsibility and calling on Kosovo’s media to pay more attention to developments in the country.
In his reaction, Capital T stresses that the right to protest is sacred, but no cause should end in loss of life, injury to children or harm to innocent people.
”Violence cannot be the answer to injustice. And a call for peace cannot be a justification for remaining silent in the face of it”, the artist states, urging institutions to fulfill their duty to protect citizens, to listen to them and to be held accountable.
Capital T has made a direct appeal to the media in Kosovo, asking them to give the deserved space to the voices of citizens protesting in Albania. ”The border divides us administratively, but truth and responsibility for one another recognize no borders”, is his message to Kosovar media.
Finally, Capital T stresses that silence should not be a choice in moments when citizens seek to be heard, bringing attention back to the importance of justice, dignity and security for all citizens.
