At the “Live me Luizin” show, singer Ronela Hajati shared her thoughts on the situation in Albania, focusing on pensions, salaries, emigration and the economic gap between citizens. Asked by Luiz Ejlli what would change if she were at the head of the government, the artist said that raising pensions and salaries would be the priority, citing her own mother, who worked as a teacher, as an example.
“I would raise pensions. My mother was a wonderful teacher, she educated generations upon generations, and she doesn’t even get 200 thousand lekë. Shameful, a black mark. I would raise salaries“, Hajati stated. The singer also said she has no interest in getting involved in politics, describing it as a field that, in her view, can harm even honest people.
“Unfortunately, we have politics that is dirtier than the dirt in books,” she said. Another issue Ronela pointed out was the departure of many Albanians from the country. According to her, massive emigration is a problem that also affects the way events unfold in Albania.
“If there were 8 million of us here in Albania, many things might not have happened. We could have replaced the people who have done us wrong,” the singer said, emphasizing her love for the country. Asked whether her views are related to recent events in Albania, Hajati replied that it is a delicate situation. She stressed that she does not take a political side and that her main concern is the wellbeing of citizens.
“I am with the people, may things go well for them,” the artist said. Ronela then raised concern about the large economic differences between those who have considerable wealth and people struggling with poverty. “Here with us there is a very large gap between people who have millions and people who are in poverty. And if it were different, no one would leave from here”, she stated.
