Zelimkhan Abakarov was unable to end his adventure at the World Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan with a medal.
The Kosovar wrestler lost in the bronze medal final in the 61 kg category, where he faced North Korea’s Kwang Myong Kim.
It was a very balanced duel, in which Abakarov had gone ahead 3-2 and was close to winning bronze. However, in the decisive moments, his opponent managed to level the score at 3-3.
Despite the tied score, the bronze medal went to Kwang Myong Kim, as the rules gave him the advantage due to the last point scored.
A missed opportunity for Abakarov, who was just one step away from the world podium, but this time he had to settle for fourth place.
