Antonio Conte has responded via an Instagram post, clarifying his situation and dismissing recent reports linking him with several major European clubs, including Manchester United and Juventus.
The Italian coach, who comes after a successful spell in charge of Napoli, stressed that there are currently no advanced negotiations and that he does not want to rush into deciding his next step in his career.
“Given the information published in recent days by some media, in Italy and abroad, I consider it necessary to intervene to clarify the situation. My name has been linked with many clubs, but at the moment there are no advanced negotiations,” Conte wrote.
Furthermore, the Italian technician emphasized that he will take the time needed to decide when and where he will return to the touchline.
“After a fantastic and successful experience in charge of Napoli, I will take the time necessary to assess how and when I will return to managing a team. It will be a well-considered decision, which I will make when I believe the right conditions have been created,” he said.
Conte also responded to reports of high financial demands and requests for full control over the clubs mentioned as possible destinations. He described these reports as unfounded, stressing that there are currently no concrete discussions on which such claims could be based.
“If a concrete opportunity arises, then it will be the time to sit down with the interested club and jointly assess the terms of a possible agreement, respecting the needs of both parties and the characteristics that define my work as a coach,” Conte concluded.
