Coach Luciano Spalletti, at the press conference, stressed that he has become accustomed to the many difficulties during his career and that right now he is only looking for the team’s response. He categorically rejected the idea of resigning from his job, stating that he wants to win matches and that anyone who expects something else will be disappointed. Spalletti emphasized the need to always do something different when things are not going well, arguing that the solution is always close to the problem and that one must look for the light, not the problem, in order to move forward.
Spalletti described Massimiliano Allegri’s speech as “perfect”, since it had touched the right points and drawn the attention of all the club’s components. He also discussed the importance of the team coming together, saying that it is helpful when things are not going well, while otherwise it can weigh heavily. The coach added that in difficult moments he prefers to be with those close to him, but believes that Juventus’s current players share a strong emotional bond. He acknowledged that the pressure at Juventus is great and that he has experienced it before, considering it a common situation in football, one that will not be the last.
Currently, Spalletti expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s situation, stressing that there have been things that have created difficulties. He and the team are committed to putting Juventus back on the right track and to regaining the lost respect. The coach expressed his wish to have Allegri on the bench next to him and plans to meet him after the match, describing him as a great coach. He emphasized the importance of a convinced approach to the match, calling for something “unbreakable” from a mental standpoint, since muscles can tire, but the mind is what creates the preconditions to overturn any moment in sport and in life.
For the match, Spalletti is calling for a team with balance and dynamism, where every part of the pitch is essential and where even the substitutes must make their contribution. He wished the fans to see their hopes and thoughts reflected in a team that earns what it deserves. Finally, he repeated his main message: “The only way is to have the desire to win the match; everything else leads to defeat.”
