Tirana and Dinamo City drew 1-1 in the capital derby, a hard-fought match that featured contentious incidents, a red card and goals in the second half. The game was played at the “Niko Dovana” Stadium in Durrës.
The first half was marked by fierce rivalry and tactical play, while the most debated moment came in the 26th minute. Referee Jorgji sent off Dinamo’s player Rifa with a red card, a decision that sparked protests from the Dinamo camp. According to them, the player had not touched Alvarez in the incident that led to the dismissal.
With the numerical advantage, Tirana looked to exploit the spaces and pressed the opposing goal, but the first half ended scoreless. In the 33rd minute, Dinamo coach Ilir Daja was also booked with a yellow card.
After the break, the white-and-blacks managed to unlock the score. In the 64th minute, Redon Xhixha put the ball in the net, giving Tirana the lead and adding another twist to the derby.
However, Dinamo did not give up, despite playing with one player fewer. The blues’ perseverance was rewarded in the 78th minute, when Erion Hoxhallari scored the equalizer, setting the score at 1-1. In the closing minutes, both teams tried to find the winning goal, but the result did not change.
