Edon Zhegrova remains one of the most interesting players in Juventus’s attacking line, but his place in the squad no longer appears guaranteed. Coach Luciano Spalletti is considering various attacking alternatives, and the competition for a place in the starting lineup is becoming increasingly fierce.
In the match against Napoli, the Italian coach chose not to start the Kosovar striker, preferring Alajbegovic, Woltemade and Kolo Muani in the attack.
This choice has drawn attention, especially considering Zhegrova’s technical abilities and his potential to make a difference on the pitch.
Zhegrova possesses qualities that are not easily found in other Juventus players. His speed, dribbling, ability to get past opponents in one-on-one duels and immediate change of direction make him an important weapon in the attacking phase.
However, the competition is growing. Alajbegovic repaid the trust with the goal that gave his side the lead, while Boga scored the goal that sealed the 2-0 win. These two performances give Spalletti more options and force Zhegrova to fight for his space.
For the Kosovar player, individual ability is no longer enough. Juventus needs a more complete contribution, with more accuracy in the final pass, right choices in decisive moments and commitment in the defensive phase as well. Spalletti demands balance from all the attacking players and expects each one to be an active part of the collective play.
Nevertheless, the win against Napoli does not diminish Zhegrova’s importance. On the contrary, Juventus needs players who can change the course of matches with an individual action. The big challenge for the 27-year-old now is to move from a player who delivers spectacle to a decisive player consistently.
