Official announcements may take a little longer, perhaps until the end of the year, but the path to seeing Krosche at Milan appears to be clear. The parties have been in contact for some time, and Cardinale appears to have chosen the German, now free after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt, to strengthen the club’s management structure.
An agreement has been reached on the financial side, as well as on the way he will work and be integrated into the organizational chart of the Rossoneri. What remains to be seen is how the obstacle of Eintracht will be overcome: under the agreement for terminating Krosche’s contract, Eintracht will receive compensation of 5-7 million euros from the club that signs the former head coach of the Germans before the summer of 2027.
In this regard, Milan does not want to spend, and this is the main obstacle to seeing Krosche as the leader of the Reds. It does not end there, as a contract with a sporting director has also been planned. Several names are circulating, with Timmo Hardung the main candidate.
From 2021 at Eintracht, the 36-year-old has been Krosche’s right-hand man. It is understood that Hardung is Milan’s preferred choice, but here too calculations must be made regarding Eintracht’s position. At the German club, many things depend on Krosche’s successor. The preferred option appears to be Christoph Spycher, now at Young Boys. The Germans are not in a hurry, and Milan must decide whether to wait for developments or look elsewhere.
