After three defeats in nine league matches, Juventus is facing a deep crisis, which culminated in a harsh confrontation between the managing director and the general director, Giovanni Carnevali, and the squad at the Continassa training centre. Carnevali, in direct terms, stressed that the current situation is unacceptable and that the team cannot continue like this, calling for an immediate response. However, he confirmed his confidence in coach Spalletti, emphasising that the working group will not be changed, despite the difficult test in which the club’s trust has been placed.
At the request of the Tuscan coach himself, Juventus will enter a training camp at JTC Continassa starting tomorrow, on the eve of the important duel against Napoli on Sunday evening. Carnevali asked Bremer and his teammates for an immediate response, not only in results but also in attitude and commitment during matches. All players have been called upon to provide the necessary answers to the owners, the club and the fans, who are deeply disappointed by recent performances.
In the last match against Genoa, the black-and-white team barely functioned at all. According to Spalletti, the players failed to understand that “football has changed”, stressing the importance of winning individual duels, getting to the first ball in “difficult” situations and showing a sensitivity to risk that is currently lacking. The team crumbled after the first difficulties, showing a lack of character.
While fans dream of a great return by Antonio Conte, for the moment the ball remains in the hands of Luciano Spalletti. The mandatory training camp will serve as a period of reflection and intensive preparation, while Sunday’s match at the “Allianz Stadium” against Napoli will be a new and decisive crossroads for Juventus in this autumn full of turbulence.
