Luis Enrique continues to write history at Paris Saint-Germain. The 2-0 win over Lyon, in Week 8 of Ligue 1, has allowed the Spanish coach to reach 126 victories in charge of the Parisian side.
According to statistics published by OptaJean, with this result the former Spain national team coach has equalled Laurent Blanc at the top of the list of PSG’s most successful coaches in terms of wins. Behind them is Luis Fernandez, who ended his spell with the French club with 125 wins.
Luis Enrique took charge of PSG in 2023 and since then has built a successful period, winning a total of 13 trophies, including two Champions League titles, according to reports. The consistency of results and the trophies won have made the Spanish tactician one of the key figures in the club’s sporting project.
The latest achievement confirms his influence on PSG’s history, while the club aims to remain competitive both in France and on the European stage. Another sign of the board’s confidence in the coach is his contract, which ties him to the Parisian club until 2030. This gives Luis Enrique the opportunity to further extend the record and aim to place himself alone at the top of the all-time list of wins.
