Luis Enrique is pleased with Paris Saint-Germain’s performance in the 4-2 Champions League win over Barcelona, but does not want his team to be considered the absolute favorites to win the competition. The Spanish coach praised the team’s play, stressing that the decisive moments of the season will come later.
“We are a team that adapts to what happens on the pitch. We have an aggressive style and we believe in our way of playing. This match showed what kind of team we are,” said the Spanish coach.
Despite the important victory, Luis Enrique does not want PSG to be spoken of as the team that must definitely win the Champions League.
“I’m not interested in that, because I don’t consider PSG favorites. This match is not decisive. The decisive month will be April, when the knockout matches will be played,” the coach declared.
He stressed that until then, the Parisians’ objective is to win every match and maintain the mentality that characterizes them.
“Until then, we must win all the matches. The rest is not important. Mentality and attitude are part of our DNA,” Luis Enrique concluded.
