The death of Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel has also affected Lionel Messi. The Argentine star of Inter Miami has reacted to the tragic loss of the 30-year-old footballer, expressing his condolences to his family and friends.
Messi published a message on his Instagram account, expressing his grief over this heavy loss.
“There are no words. My most sincere condolences and much strength to all his family and friends. Rest in peace,” wrote the captain of Argentina.
De Miguel died after a cardiac arrest, a few days after a serious collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono during a match between the two teams in Spain’s Segunda División.
The incident occurred in the final minutes of the match, when the goalkeeper came out to intervene and collided with the Tenerife striker. Despite medical intervention, the footballer could not survive and passed away at the age of 30.
