Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will not attend the clash against Barcelona, scheduled for next Sunday at the Spotify Camp Nou. Also, the traditional lunch between the leaders of the two clubs will not take place before the match.
According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, institutional relations between the two giants of Spanish football remain interrupted since Real Madrid’s involvement in the Negreira case. For this reason, Pérez has not visited Barcelona in recent seasons.
Thus, the upcoming Clásico will not bring a meeting between the two presidents, Joan Laporta and Florentino Pérez, despite the special importance this match is expected to have.
Mundo Deportivo recalls that in last season’s match at Camp Nou, Pérez was the only Real Madrid representative in the main stand. This year, the Madrid club is expected to be represented by one of its vice presidents.
Meanwhile, the participation of other well-known personalities remains unclear. Artist Tyler, the Creator, whose brand GOLF will appear on the front of Barcelona’s shirt, has been confirmed.
