Greek Magazine: “Albania brings back border dangers”
A greek magazine, “Epikaira”, discusses details about the new relations between Albania and Greece, in an article with the title “Who is burning borders today and why?” The article considers the Albanian nationalism and irredentism as dangerous for the entire peninsula.
The article says that the recent events are provoking great concern, while Greece is weak financially and has held a passive stance, trying to get activated to preserve the peaceful status-quo in Balkan and defend the vital interests.
“The boldness of Albanians has passed every limit. Tirana has made a strong protest to Athens through the Greek Ambassador, and asked a new program for the oil researches in the Ionian Sea. The Albanian side claims the Albanian territorial waters have been violated and demanded the research maps in Epir. The Albanians have put in question the borders between Greece and Albania”.
The Greek newspaper says that the research map is mainly in Iannina, and that Albania had no remarks when it had been presented by the Greek Minister in 2011.
“There are questions on why the government of Edi Rama has started this aggressive move, knowing that their country has always lost in the past with such moves”, the article says.
