This policy explains how Media Koha Jonë (publisher: Nikoll Lesi; address: Rruga “Sami Frashëri”, Pallatet e Aviacionit të Vjetër Nr. 2, Tirana, Albania) handles information when you use the free Gazeta Koha Jonë iOS and Android app, and when you visit this page.
The app is a news reader. There is no user account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, address, or location.

What we do not collect
We do not collect GPS location. We do not ask for camera, microphone, or contacts. This version does not include third-party display ads (AdSense, AdMob). We do not use Apple App Tracking Transparency / IDFA. This version does not send push notifications.
What stays on your device only
Stored locally on the phone (not sent to us to identify you):
- saved articles (MyKoha)
- followed sections and unread markers
- theme (light / dark / system) and home menu order
- recent searches and sections
- a local cache of recently viewed feeds
- AI summaries you have already generated, so they are not requested again
Uninstalling the app removes this data from the device.
What is sent over the network
News content. The app loads articles, categories, videos, and images from kohajone.com via our own API — the same public content as the website.
KOHA AI (Ask tab). When you submit a question, it is sent to our servers at kohajone.com. The server searches published posts and sends the question, a short chat history, and article excerpts to OpenRouter, which routes a language model (currently Google Gemini) to draft the answer. Answers are grounded in published articles; they can be wrong. Do not type passwords, personal data, or confidential material into Ask.
Article summaries. When you tap “Përmbledhje nga Koha Jonë AI”, the article title and body (up to about 8,000 characters) are sent to our servers, then to OpenRouter, to produce short Albanian bullet points. The result is then stored on your device.
Server security. Like any website, our servers may log IP address, app/device type, and time of request, for operations, abuse limits (for example too many AI requests), and security. We do not use these logs for advertising.
House ads (optional). Editors may show Koha Jonë promotional images in the app. Tapping one opens the linked URL (usually in the browser). If no ads are published, nothing is shown.
Embedded video and social posts. If an article or video includes YouTube, Instagram, or X (Twitter), those services load in the reader. They may set cookies or collect data under their own policies. If you never open that content, those services are not called.

We do not sell personal data. We do not give third parties reader lists for marketing.
Children
The app is a general-audience newspaper, not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
There is no account to delete. To remove local data: uninstall the app, or clear its storage in system settings.

Changes
We will post updates on this page with a new date. Continued use of the app after a change means you have seen the new version.
