Italy, Albania Police Arrest ISIL Supporters

Police arrested 10 people suspected of supporting the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group on Wednesday in an operation in Italy and Albania, Reuters news agency reported.

Four Italians, five Albanians and one Canadian were suspected of violating Italian anti-terrorism laws, including one that prohibits organizing trips to support foreign terrorist groups.

Searches and arrests were carried out in the northern cities of Milan and Bergamo and in the Tuscan city of Grosseto.

In a separate operation in Rome, police arrested two people from North Africa suspected of running an extremist website that incited readers to plan attacks in Italy and the Maghreb countries of North Africa.
