Kuwait gives Albania five million euro for gov’t reforms

Peleshi, who received the grant from the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Albania, Najib Al-Bader, also extolled efforts of the State of Kuwait to support development process in Albania since 1993, particularly through infrastructure projects carried out by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) amounting to USD 75 million.
Peleshi revealed, at a joint press briefing with Ambassador Al-Bader after receiving the five million euro grant, that the contribution of the State of Kuwait would be allocated for five priorities in order to enable the government to face a number of challenges through the implementation of reforms required by the European Union, in which Albania is seeking to be member of, where the membership will help reduce the time periods for the government to accomplish these reforms.
He praised both countries’ relations which he said will see more bridges of cooperation and convergence in all areas of common interest, highlighting the importance of the prospective visit to Kuwait by ALbanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on November 18 which would contribute to the development of relations between the two friendly states.
For his part, Al-Bader hailed both countries’ ties, saying that the contribution was made to support the government reform programs needed for Albania to join the EU.
