President Nishani decreed Fatos Reka as ambassador in FYROM
“There can be no parallel structures and my stances are not because of the parallel stances held by the government, by asking consultations for the names appointed at the Supreme Court”.
This was declared one month ago by the Albanian President, when he started blocking any proposition coming from the Foreign Ministry, including Fatos Reka, proposed as our diplomatic representative in Skopje. Some weeks after this declaration, Nishani decreed his appointing in Skopje as Ambassador.
This decision comes after the tragic events of Kumanova, which brought to everyone’s attention that Albania had not been represented by any Ambassador in this country where Albanians are a state-forming factor.
But, more than this, this move of the Albanian president came only one day after the news that the Foreign Ministry decided to resolve the stalemate by appointing in Skopje Bashkim Rama as Charge D’Affairs. The diplomatic note for him was submitted just two days ago in Macedonia.
But only two days later, Reka was decreed as Ambassador, which undoes the appointing of Rama in Macedonia and puts in question the seriousness of the representation.
But the President did not do the same with Vatican. The Foreign Ministry gave the same solution, by appointing Visar Zhiti as Charge D’Affairs, whose appointing was not decreed by the President with the same argument, that his name had not been discussed with him.
