Socialist base, concerned for employments. They suggest Majko or Nikolla for Mayor of Tirana
For the first time after the June 23rd elections, the Socialist Party gathered the Assembly of Tirana. The purpose was related to the organization of the local elections.
The meeting was opened by Minister Saimir Tahiri, leader of the Socialist Party for Tirana, in presence of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama. Tahiri focused on the imoprtance of these elections, which is the first test of the majority after the June 23rd victory.
The Socialists focused on the concerns of the basis as regards their employment. One source said that every time they spoke about this, they were applauded in the room.
The base has also proposed the Socialist candidates for the Tirana Municipality.
They have given concrete names, suggesting the former Prime Minister, Pandeli Majko, and the Minister of Education, Lindita Nikolla, former vice leaders of the Municipal Unit no.1.
Rama preferred to hear the voice of his base than be a protagonist of this meeting.
