Vucic: Drone was politically motivated. Rama: Our future program is uniting with the EU
The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, and the Prime Minister of Serbia, Alexandar Vucic, returned to the incident of the drone in the Serbia-Albania match. Vucic said it is a politically motivated episode, while Rama said that the Albanian people have no programs for a Greater Albania.
“It was a bad episode for our relations, motivated politically. The Greater Albania flag was raised for this very reason. We know the author, a person named Ismail. Together with some other persons, he arrived from Italy three or four days before the match. This shows how delicate our relations are”, Vucic declared.
After this declaration, Rama answered: “Greater Albania is not a project or program. It is an idea fed by those who do not want a better future for the Albanian people. Our nation does not want to enlarge on the expenses of anyone else. We want only normal co-existence. Our project is to unite through the European Union. We would have simply laughed if we saw a flag of Greater Serbia here, but this is a matter of perceptions. I think that both countries took a lesson from what happened. We overcame it with courage and now we are here”.
Rama declared that the first exchange of visits after such a long time, is a good sign for bringing both nations closer to each other, despite the fact of not agreeing about everything.
“I hope that this visit will help the Serbian Prime Minister to return in our country. I hope that Serbs might visit Albania in summer, where I guarantee they will find hospitality and nice places”, Rama declared.
The Albanian Prime Minister added that our countries have a historic chance to return peace in the region. As for Kosovo, Rama said that not agreeing on it doesn’t make the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo less valuable, which is a prologue of the new relations between Albanians and Serbs.
As for Kumanova, the Albanian Prime Minister said it proved the delicate peace in our region, and he underlined the need to implement the Ohrid agreement.
By underlining the cooperation between our countries, Prime Minister Rama declared that the Albanian and Serbian people should show not only good friendship, but also active cooperation.
One of the agreement between our two countries is the mutual recognition of university degrees, which is a good message for the Presheva Valley Albanians, who, according to Rama, expect more from the Serbian government in exchange of their will to respect the state and institutions of Serbia, the same decent treatment that is given to the Serbs of Northern Kosovo.
The Serbian Prime Minister, Alexandar Vucic, declared that he is proud to be the first Prime Minister of Serbia to visit Albania. He said that Serbia considers Kosovo and Metiohia as their integral part and will never agree with the independence of Kosovo.
Vucic underlined that it is important for Serbia and Albania to cooperate for infrastructure projects.
