The Durrës Police have uncovered four theft cases recorded within a single week in the Shkëmbi i Kavajës area. As part of the operation codenamed “Periudha”, a 31-year-old man has been arrested, while his accomplice has been declared wanted.
Demir Buthi, 31, residing in Hajdaraj of Kavaja, has been taken into custody. Meanwhile, the Police have declared wanted A. S., also 31 and residing in Kavaja.
According to the investigation, the two young men are suspected of acting in collusion between 17 and 21 October 2026, stealing from four different businesses in the Shkëmbi i Kavajës area.
Their targets are suspected to have been mainly supermarkets and bars, from which considerable sums of money and valuable items were taken.
Investigations by specialists of the Plazh Police Station led to the identification of the suspected perpetrators and the documentation of the four theft cases.
Police are continuing their work, in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, to capture the 31-year-old declared wanted, and to verify whether the two suspects may also be involved in other thefts.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecution Office at the Durrës District Court of First Instance for further action.
