The Durrës Police have arrested Fatjon Haxhiu, 38, accused of causing the death of his wife following an incident that took place in 2022 in Manëz.
Haxhiu was handcuffed after being deported from Greece, in execution of the security measure “Detention in prison” ordered by the Durrës Court on 31 March 2022.
According to the Police, on 18 March 2022, the 38-year-old is suspected of having physically assaulted his wife. Due to the injuries sustained, the woman died 10 days later.
Specialists for Crimes Against the Person at the Durrës Police Directorate (DVP Durrës) executed the security measure, while the procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
Haxhiu is charged with the criminal offense of “Murder due to family relationships”.
