From Pjerin Ndreu-
Several reasons and a great deal of responsibility for running again on 9 May!
On 9 May I will run again for a third term as head of the Municipality of Lezhë, because we have strong reasons to continue and even greater responsibilities to fulfil!
The first term, 2019–2023, was a battle with extraordinary difficulties.
We inherited a municipality with:
• 4.6 million euro in debts.
• 1,200 employees, more than half of whom did not show up for work.
• 12.7 million euro budget, 65% of which came from the government grant.
• Abnormal rent payments for cars.
• 67% of the budget going to salaries and only 17% to investment.
• An alarming waste situation, especially on the coast.
• Urban and rural infrastructure in a severe state.
And as if these were not enough, just three months after taking office we faced the earthquake, then the pandemic, and the market crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.
But we did not give up! We did not complain! We faced it and we worked!
Today, after almost 8 years, Lezha speaks in figures, not words!
• The budget for 2027 is projected to reach 33–34 million euro, from 12.7 million at the start. A figure that needs no comment!
• 65% of the budget is secured from our own revenues and only 35% from the government.
• 59% of the budget goes to investment.
• 60% of investments are carried out in rural areas.
• We are among the 4 best municipalities for projects with donors.
• Over 250 km of rural roads, including ongoing projects.
• Among the best municipalities in the country for waste management.
• Quality progress in tourism, sport, social issues, art, culture and cultural heritage.
• Significant improvements in water supply and sewerage, and 900 km of irrigation and drainage canals.
From a municipality that could barely cover its expenses, to one that invests, develops and plans for the future!
I won’t go on any longer. I do not claim we have done everything or that everything is perfect. But whoever knew Lezha in 2019 and sees Lezha today understands the difference!
We still have a lot to do! We have major projects underway, works that have been started and must be completed, and new challenges that require dedication and responsibility.
And above all, we have an extraordinary team of young men and women from Lezha, socialists, democrats and non-party members, who work together with unmatched dedication. That is our strength!
I know there are many who do not like us. But there are even more who believe in us, support us and give us the strength to move forward!
It is to this trust that we owe more work, more results and more responsibility!
A third term is not a request for a privilege. It is a commitment to complete what we started and to take Lezha even further forward!
We will continue to serve everyone, even those who do not like us. Because the Municipality belongs to everyone, and our work belongs to everyone!
As for those who do not like us, they will have to put up with us for four more years… working!

On 9 May, let the citizens speak! We have something to show, and we know what we still have to do!
