As part of the first edition of “THU’JE – Platform for Democracy and Peace,” taking place in Elbasan, Lorena Haxhiymeri, Director of Performance at Elbasan Municipality and coordinator of the “THU’JE” platform for this institution, moderated one of the discussion panels, focusing on transparency, virtual communication, dialogue and local democracy.
During the meeting, the virtual assistant (chatbot) of the official website of Elbasan Municipality was also presented, a new communication and information tool that aims to help citizens, especially young people, by facilitating access to the institution’s information and services. Through it, users can more easily find the information they are looking for, making communication with the local administration more direct and accessible.
The presentation took place within the discussion on the role of technology in strengthening transparency and improving the relationship between institutions and citizens. In this regard, the virtual assistant represents a step toward modernizing institutional communication and creating new forms of interaction, in service of more transparent local governance that is closer to the community.
The “THU’JE” platform, held from 28 to 30 October under the motto “Many voices, one city,” brings to Elbasan representatives of institutions, civil society organizations, young people and international partners, creating spaces for discussion and the exchange of experiences on democracy, peace and civic participation.
