Leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted to the elections in Serbia, expressing hope that 25 October will mark not only the end of what he calls autocracy, but also the laying of secure foundations for democracy and the country’s European integration.
Meta’s reaction:
I wish that 25 October will not only be the day autocracy collapses, but also the day democracy and European integration of Serbia are established on secure foundations.
A democratic Serbia is in the interest not only of its people, but also of all neighbours and the region.
Only in a democratic Serbia will discrimination against Albanians in Serbia end, as will the deactivation of their addresses, the impossibility of voting and being fairly represented, and also of being integrated into all local and central institutions.
Congratulations to the “Albanian Coalition” for strengthening the voice and representation of its people in the Serbian Parliament, and a special thanks to all the institutions of Kosovo that strongly supported the unification of Albanians on a single list.
