The State Police has deployed across several areas of the capital and has begun escorting several people following tensions and incidents recorded during the protest in Tirana.
Protesters clashed with police officers, and then threw fireworks and pyrotechnic materials, while police responded with tear gas, rubber bullets and water pressure.
During the protest, burning of waste containers and damage to businesses were also reported, including the breaking of windows of a second-tier bank in the “Vasil Shanto” area.
