Mundësia Party leader Agron Shehaj says the protest, initially sparked by the Zvërnec issue, marks a historic moment and could bring major changes to the country. He stated that support for Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Democratic Party has declined, warning that after this movement Albania may no longer have the same political class.
”This is a protest that resembles the student protests in Serbia. The same thing is happening in Albania. None of us expected this protest to start in June and on that scale. We expected the protest to fade out. It was a historic moment. That protest did not end and continued even today.
There was participation today too. It was not very large, but it was a continuous protest. The protest continues and may be a long journey. The protest may change Albania forever. I think that after the protest we will no longer have the same political class. We are facing a historic change. Support for the prime minister and for the old parties has fallen”, Shehaj said, speaking as a guest on ”Të Paekspozuarit”.
