The Independent Trade Union of Albanian Education (SPASH) and the United Union of Albanian Education (SBASH) have expressed support for the national student protest announced for Saturday, October 24, 2026.
In its statement, SPASH announces that it will take part in the protest at 11:00, in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, while at 14:00 it will join students near the Ministry of Education.
“SPASH expresses its support and solidarity for Saturday’s protest, standing alongside pupils, students and teachers in defense of their rights,” the statement says.
The union stresses that the voice of the education community must be heard and respected, supporting efforts to improve education and protect the dignity and future of younger generations.
SBASH has also expressed support for the students. In a notice issued by its Kavajë branch, the union expresses solidarity with the students and with the Trade Union of University Employees of Albania (SPUSH), and calls on teachers to join the protest.
“An attack on the teacher is an attack on education and the future of the country,” the notice states, calling for unity and a common voice of the education community against injustices.
