Socialist Parliamentary Group leader Taulant Balla declared today that Prime Minister Edi Rama will never resign.
Balla further stated that students in Albania should take an example from Serbian students and confront the Socialist Party (PS) through the vote.
“Prime Minister Rama has been very clear: dialogue with the students. There is a proposal for dialogue, because students have issues to address, even though we are among the few countries that have a special treatment for outstanding students. Students from families in need pay no taxes or fees and receive 100 euros from the state.
Dialogue cannot under any circumstances take place with those who practice violence. The law on assemblies provides a series of measures for those who commit violence. Rama’s resignation will never happen. There is no resignation. Dialogue, without a doubt, but the violent section of the Democratic Party (PD) is excluded. Dialogue, yes. If they want to send the list of issues in advance, let them send it.
Students should take an example from the students in Serbia. There was a protest that lasted for three years in a row and, in the end, it materialized through a vote. They went to the elections. The vote is what determines, and in democracy, forget that there can be a change of power without a vote,” Balla said in a statement to the media this morning.
