The State Police has announced the arrest in Greece of a 26-year-old Albanian man, who was placed on the international wanted list. The young man, with the initials R. T., born in Korçë, was detained in Thessaloniki with a view to his extradition to Albania.
According to the authorities, in 2021 the Korçë Court had imposed on him the security measure “Imprisonment” for the criminal offence “Intentional homicide”, committed in complicity.
According to the investigations, the incident is suspected to have taken place in 2020 in Thessaloniki, where the 26-year-old, together with two other persons, first assaulted an Albanian citizen with the initials S. D. and then struck him with sharp weapons, causing his death.
The case was reported in Korçë by the victim’s relatives, while the investigations were carried out in cooperation with the Greek authorities.
Meanwhile, Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Athens to complete the extradition procedures for the 26-year-old to Albania.
