France is preparing for a tense day as new protests are expected to take place tomorrow in several cities across the country. To guarantee order and security, the authorities have decided to deploy around 70,000 police and gendarmes.
The announcement was made by Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, who stated that the level of risk remains the same as during the protests held over the previous weekends.
During a press conference in Paris, the minister raised concern about calls circulating on social networks that refer to violence, blockades, revolution and uprising. According to him, these calls are linked to radical far-left groups.
The protests are being organized by trade unions, while participation is also expected from students and activists of the Yellow Vest movement.
With tens of thousands of officers on standby, the attention of French authorities is focused on managing the gatherings and preventing clashes in the streets of the main cities.
