Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez expressed confidence that the Socialist Party can secure a progressive majority in the general election of November 29, despite polls that favor the conservative opposition.
In an interview with “El País,” Sánchez warned that a joint government of the People’s Party (PP) and “Vox” would, in his view, put at risk the social rights and freedoms gained over the past decades.
He emphasized the housing crisis, stating that the budget for this sector has increased eightfold and that around one million homes have been built during his mandate. Sánchez also defended the sustainability of the pension system and stressed that protests over the cost of living are demands for solutions directed at all institutions.
The Prime Minister aims for another four-year term, seeking citizens’ support for the continuation of his policies.
