The Director General of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, has resigned.
The news was announced by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who confirmed that he had accepted Hoxha’s request and made a decision to release him from this position.
Meanwhile, following the proposal of Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla, in accordance with legal procedures, Fehmi Hoti has been appointed as acting Director General of the Police.
The Government of Kosovo has expressed gratitude to Gazmend Hoxha, praising his work and contribution during his time at the head of the Kosovo Police.
Hoxha’s resignation is reportedly suspected to be linked to the killing of Arlinda Zekaj. She was killed by her former brother-in-law, even though she had requested protection from police officers.
