The EU Ambassador to Tirana, Sofia Moreira de Sousa, held a meeting with the head of the Democratic Party’s parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, where the focus of the discussion was Albania’s path toward membership in the European Union.
In a public statement, the diplomat said the conversation centred on the responsibilities of the Parliament in the integration process, particularly in adopting the necessary reforms, aligning domestic legislation with European standards, and strengthening the government’s accountability.
Moreira de Sousa stressed that Albania’s advancement toward the EU requires the involvement and commitment of all political forces. She also emphasised that Parliament should serve as an institution where political dialogue and cooperation play an essential role.
