A national student protest is taking place in Tirana, while the Democratic Party has also mobilized in support of them.
Students have gathered in front of the Ministry of Education, where they continue the rally and demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Teachers who have been boycotting the teaching process for several days are also supporting them.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party and its supporters are carrying out their mobilization in the capital. Party leader Sali Berisha had called on members and citizens from across the country a day earlier to join the protest.
Students have announced that at 14:00 the protest will continue in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Police have taken increased security measures, while around 1,500 officers have been deployed to ensure the protests proceed smoothly. Incidents and clashes between protesters and police forces were recorded at previous rallies.
