From the eagle’s cell in Fier, Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj has written several more letters after his meeting with the Minister of Justice, and has reacted sharply to what he considers political pressure, threats and attempts to isolate him from his family and citizens. Veliaj disputes the accusations about organizing and financing the protests, refuses the delegation of the Municipality of Tirana, and says he will not back down from his positions. The mayor insists he cannot be part of actions aimed at damaging the institutions he has led for years. In this context, he also criticizes the composition of the government, claiming that the current ministers have no experience in opposition and do not know the history of the Socialist Party’s political confrontations.
My responses: TG
1 – Transfer as “honor” + protests
– I understand you are just the messenger, not the author – I don’t blame you, you remain my friend, regardless of the role.
– Shame that the PM himself is handling the internments.
– If R. thinks that by removing and isolating me from my family he becomes great – he belittles himself – and the prison guards mock him.
– You struck a big blow, to come out so small, pity.
– If you want, send me to Spaç too, I won’t bow down or be blackmailed.
– What “honor” should I recognize KM for? That he negotiates with prosecutors over how many charges I’ll face and how many years I’ll get?
– What does “last time as a father” mean? A threat?
– That you say “they want to eat me alive and want me dead” is shameful for you, for making such talk.
– I am not the organizer or financier of the Flamingos, nor of the students – these are fabrications like in Enver’s time! Where has the state gone, that it has found an internal enemy?
– When I protected Tirana from violence for 54 weeks, the municipality was burning, and I didn’t accuse you. Even though the BT was burning with molotov cocktails, no one moved a finger.
– How can I overthrow the constitutional order from prison? Are you in your right mind, or should KM calm down? Do you understand the words you say? You even said terrorism! HAHA
– I don’t throw stones at my own house. PS no no, I’m talking about Tirana. I’ve been involved with every traffic light, plaque in the square, signage, etc. It hurts me more than all of you at the municipality.
– But you don’t know, you have a government where no minister has spent a single day in opposition.
– I was there on 21 January, there for the hunger strike, there at “28 January” (KM knows this very well), and in the summer of 2011 R left everyone alone.
– Where were these ministers today? That’s why they can easily lie and poison with “internal enemies”, because they have no memory, they behave like clowns in “the emperor’s new clothes”.
– I made only two political posts – 1 about Hashim and the KLA + 1 about Vučić. You haven’t spoken to me for 20 months, and then the hysteria takes you and you deal with the cells. I stand by my posts; you deal with the cells.
– The answer for KM is: I don’t organize the protests, and he can’t intimidate me with these fabrications, which I despise with disgust. Fuckin’ grow up, find time for something better.
– Not here, but in Spaç – even if you put me away for 100 years, you won’t bend me. Let R. forget it.
2 – I am not delegating BT. I delegated it for 18 months. The mandate was given to me by the Constitutional Court and the left-wing people and citizens with 160 thousand votes
– 0 schools
– 0 trees planted
– 0 new investments
– 0 important decisions
– 0 loans issued; we even lost Katarina at Bulevardi Ri, and the EIB at Lana
– In the few weeks since I took over, 6 schools were unblocked in September, +1500 soft loans
– Not that I’m more capable, but I was elected, so I am more responsible
– KM promised he would handle it himself, but the garbage piled up, the socialists left, and you brought in little Dash Sula, who used to hand out fines. Why have the people who brought the victories with PS run out?
– I returned the Municipality to the Socialists and the citizens; Etleva, a 24-carat socialist, ours, honest and capable.
– Sadi was a former socialist prefect and deputy, with contributions as a Tirana native and within PS.
– Sara, whom I had as a child at FRESSH – has given the best years to PS+BT.
– PS doesn’t grow from the dregs Saliu throws out, but from promoting young people inside and outside PS.
– So let’s promote Arbri, he isn’t a bad guy, but I’m not doing delegation anymore.
– Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me
3 – Response to Plaro
– For 20 months no other adviser has left me. You yourself came after 2 years. Who should I consult? The walls?
– Are you telling me that KM sets the cells, the meetings, the hospital visits? What do you mean, consult?
– Did I not write to you in the chat groups about Etjeni, or did you not bother?
– Plaro became my friend, buddy and lawyer. Before the crisis we were collaborators, but since you left, and the leader didn’t let you… I’m left only with Plaro, and now I’d say 1 correct person is better than 1000 useless servile ones.
– 24:00 we ended. He brought me two books and I thanked him; he left with the director, and I returned to the cell on crutches.
– I wished them well and blessings, but I don’t accept illegal affairs.
