Health Center No. 10 in Tirana, which serves as a pilot center for the family medicine model, is expanding its services for patients, while 11 young doctors are completing their professional practice at the center.
Minister of Health and Social Welfare Klodiana Spahiu visited the center today, where she became familiar firsthand with the work of the health personnel, the organization of services and the care provided to patients.
During the visit, Spahiu was informed that the center is seeing an increase in HPV vaccinations among boys, a preventive measure aimed at protecting health and reducing the risk of diseases linked to this virus.
Another aspect of the service is care for patients who have difficulty moving. Family doctors carry out home visits for persons with disabilities and patients who, due to their health condition, cannot come to the center. For these patients, doctors keep identified records and organize visits according to a set schedule.
The minister also met with the young doctors completing their practice at the center, learning about their experience and their involvement in daily services. “At a time when there are many voices and debates, I believe the greatest responsibility is to be close to citizens, to listen to their needs and to show through concrete work what we are doing for them,” Spahiu said.
Health Center No. 10 is the only one in the capital operating under this family medicine pilot model, with the aim of improving the organization of services and citizens’ access to health care.
