A recent law graduate from the Faculty of Law has publicly challenged Prime Minister Edi Rama, stating that threats of punitive measures will not stop students and young people who are protesting. Representatives of civil society and intellectuals announced they had filed a complaint with SPAK regarding allegations of police violence against students during the protests.
The young man opposed the package of measures announced by the government, claiming they conflict with democratic principles and European Union standards. According to him, these measures will face review by the Constitutional Court.
“As a protester, as a graduate of the Faculty of Law, Rama should keep in mind that those measures have a background. Communist principles, which go against EU principles. The Constitutional Court itself will overturn them”, he said.
The protester stressed that young people have no intention of backing down under pressure and that the mobilization will continue despite the prime minister’s warnings. “But he should forget that we will be frightened by those measures, let him not even think it. During the day we eat gas, at night we work. He should not underestimate us”, the young man declared, conveying the message that the protests will continue.
Through this reaction, he made clear that the protesters intend to sustain their resistance and keep the student movement alive, while the clash between them and the government over the announced measures remains at the center of public debate.
