Democratic Party General Secretary Flamur Noka has reacted sharply to statements by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the latest European Commission report on Albania. Noka described the EC report as one of the most severe blows to the Albanian government, directly holding Prime Minister Rama responsible for the situation in the country.
Commenting on Rama’s statement that Albania is in the final kilometer toward European integration, Noka said the prime minister is not in the final kilometer toward the EU, but toward the end of the political road, also mentioning the name of Ergys Agasi.
“Edi Rama today is, for every Albanian, a politically dead man. The EC report has dealt him an extremely heavy blow. It is the harshest report that has ever been read before Albanians”, Noka said.
He also rejected claims that Rama’s departure would hinder Albania’s European integration, stressing that any leader who builds normal institutions can lead the country toward the European Union. According to Noka, the main obstacle to integration is Rama’s own governance, which he accuses of having built a state of violence and a narco-state.
“Edi Rama can never lead Albania into Europe, because he is building a state of violence and a narco-state”, concluded the General Secretary of the PD.
