Prime Minister Edi Rama has promised a bonus of 2,500 euros to State Police officers who were deployed on the front line during recent protests in Tirana. During a meeting with the blue-uniformed officers, Rama also announced that on January 1 there will be a considerable increase in their salaries.
The head of government stated that the 2,500-euro bonus will be paid to every officer who was deployed on the front line, justifying the decision by the stress and additional expenses that, in his words, accompany service under these conditions.
“On January 1, your salary will increase considerably, for the dignity with which you are facing the protesters and those who, on screens, demand that the police surrender. 2,500 euros for every officer who is on this front, because you have not only the stress, but also the need to spend extra things at this moment,” Rama said.
