The protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama continues to keep the situation in Tirana tense. Protesters have gathered again in front of the Prime Minister’s Office building, repeating their demand for the head of government to step down.
Students remain determined in their stance, considering the prime minister’s resignation a non-negotiable condition. They have not accepted Rama’s repeated invitations to dialogue, while the boycott of classes at universities continues without interruption.
For several weeks now, young people have been organizing protests and marches in the streets of the capital, moving gatherings also near various faculties. Their demands have also gained support from academics and citizens, who have joined the student cause.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued to insist on holding a dialogue with students, also announcing the presentation of an online platform for communication with them.
Despite these efforts, students have given no signs of backing down from their position, making it clear that dialogue cannot replace their main demand: the prime minister’s resignation.
