Barcelona has recorded record revenue from ticket sales for the match against Real Madrid, played on Sunday at the “Spotify Camp Nou”. The Catalan club collected a total of €19,105,768, surpassing the previous record of €16.4 million, set in May.
According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, 60,055 fans were present at the “Spotify Camp Nou”, fewer than at the previous encounter, when the attendance reached 62,213.
Nevertheless, the rise in ticket prices and the increase in VIP seating directly contributed to the growth in revenue. The average price of a ticket reached €984, excluding taxes, marking a 10% increase compared to last season. Meanwhile, the average price for VIP seats was €2,727.
The figures recorded at this El Clasico are considered an indicator of the stadium’s economic potential, especially after the completion of the works and its return to full capacity.
According to reports, the “Spotify Camp Nou” is expected to have a capacity of 104,600 seats, including 9,500 VIP seats, compared with around 5,000 such seats currently. This expansion is expected to give Barcelona opportunities to further increase match-day revenue.
The club’s data also show that season ticket holders and members accounted for 86% of the stadium’s normal capacity during this fixture.
Beyond ticket revenue, Barcelona has also recorded exceptional figures in sales of official products at the “Spotify Camp Nou”.
For the first time, sales exceeded €800,000 over two consecutive days. An important contribution was also made by the promotional collection created in collaboration with rapper Tyler, the Creator.
