In Ningbo, China, the Senior World Weightlifting Championships will be held from October 27 to November 8, an event that also serves as a qualifier for the “Los Angeles 2028” Olympic Games.
Albania will be represented at this tournament by 5 lifters: 4 men and 1 woman. In the 69kg category, the red-and-black colors will be represented by lifter Enkileda Carja, who competes in Group C.
For the men, the 4 lifters are: Briken Calja (Group C) and Erkand Qerimaj (Group B) in the 75kg category; Kristi Ramadani in the 85kg category (Group D); and Ertjan Kofsha in the 95kg category (Group C).
Given the placement of the Albanian lifters in the competition, outside Group A (the strongest), it seems somewhat difficult to reach the medal zone. Nevertheless, they have always shown that they can hold their own.
After the controversy of recent days, the Shkodra native Erkand Qerimaj will also be at the world championships; he had declared that he would not go without his coach. This issue was resolved after the accusations against the federation.
