The future of Napoli could bring a major ownership change. Aurelio De Laurentiis has set the price for the sale of the Italian club, demanding a full 2 billion euros. Meanwhile, American entrepreneur Matt Rizzetta is interested in buying it, but his offer is significantly lower.
Napoli may be entering a new chapter, as president Aurelio De Laurentiis appears increasingly willing to consider the possibility of selling the club. According to reports in Italian media, the club’s head met with Matt Rizzetta, the American businessman who aims to build a broad sporting project in the city, at a hotel in Naples.
The two also watched the Champions League match against Bodø/Glimt together, while their latest meeting was described as friendly. However, the main obstacle remains the price. De Laurentiis values Napoli at 2 billion euros, arguing that the club represents not only a football team but also a brand with millions of fans in Italy and around the world.
On the other hand, Rizzetta, who has shown interest in taking control of the club, is willing to offer around 1.3 billion euros. The American does not intend to buy a minority stake, but a complete project, which also includes the modernization of the Diego Armando Maradona stadium.
