Egnatia won 1-0 against Teuta in the final match of the first phase of the “Abissnet Superiore”, taking top spot in the standings after a hard-fought clash at “Egnatia Arena”.
The encounter between the two teams, both contenders for the league title, started cautiously, with the hosts appearing more assertive in the middle of the park, while Teuta focused on organizing their defense. Despite their efforts, the first half ended goalless, 0-0.
The goal that decided the match came in the second half. Egnatia built a quick move, with Gruda releasing Adjesani. The latter was accurate in front of goal, beating goalkeeper Bernardoni and giving the Rrogozhina side the lead.
After the goal, both teams sought to change the result. Teuta tried to respond, while Egnatia aimed to manage the advantage and exploit the spaces created. However, the score remained unchanged until the final whistle of referee Juxhin Xhaja.
This victory is of special importance for Egnatia, which climbs to first place in the “Abissnet Superiore” with 21 points after nine weeks of the season. Teuta, on the other hand, drops to second place with 20 points.
