England manager Thomas Tuchel has included Jobe Bellingham, 21, in his 25-man squad for the UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain in November. This marks Jobe’s first call-up to the senior England team, having previously captained the U-21 side. The news was made public on Friday.
Following Dortmund’s 2-1 home win over Elversberg in the Bundesliga, Jobe expressed his emotions, saying he and his brother, Jude, had dreamed of playing together for England since they were children. “It’s really good. I don’t want to get too excited, but it’s certainly a big dream for me and also for Jude,” the younger Bellingham told DAZN. He added that they had played out this scenario “so many times in the garden or anywhere, in the park, playing together for England. So it’s a big dream. It hasn’t happened yet, so I don’t want to break it or say it too early, but yes, I’m really emotional.”
His brother, Jude Bellingham, 23, a midfielder for Real Madrid, who also made his England debut while playing for Dortmund, now has 60 caps for the national team. Jobe took time to adapt to the Bundesliga after joining Dortmund in 2025, but he has impressed this season and has become a established member of Dortmund’s starting lineup.
Dortmund coach Niko Kovac praised Jobe’s development and commitment to improving his game. “He is really a complete football fan. He studies his own game and the games of other players to learn from the best in his position,” Kovac said. “And he is a really wonderful guy and has an excellent attitude. I am really happy for him that he can now wear the shirt of his national team next to his brother. It is something very special, not only to play for your country, but to play alongside your brother. It is unbelievable.”
