Egnatia has suffered a serious blow in defence. The injury to defender Eljon Sota has proven more serious than initially anticipated, and the player is expected to be out of action for an extended period.
Sota was injured in the ankle during the match against Teuta, and after medical examinations it was decided that he will undergo surgery abroad.
According to the medical staff’s assessment, the defender’s recovery is expected to take around 5-6 months. This is a significant loss for Egnatia and coach Nevil Dede, who will be without one of the defensive players for a considerable part of the season.
The technical staff of the Rrogozhina side will now have to find suitable alternatives to cope with Sota’s absence in the upcoming matches.
