Kristian Shpendi is enjoying an excellent moment in Italy, where he has been named the best player of September in Serie B. The Albanian striker spoke about his form, his goals with Cesena and his dream of sharing a pitch with his twin brother, Stiven, in the Albania national team shirt.
With six goals in the first five matches of the championship, Shpendi has confirmed his potential, becoming one of the protagonists of Serie B. In an interview with the Italian media outlet “Chiamarsi Bomber”, the striker admitted that he had not expected such a good start, but stressed that his aim remains to improve from season to season.
“I don’t have a set target for the number of goals. I prefer to take things match by match and contribute to the team”, Shpendi said, underlining that he wants to become an even more important point of reference for his teammates.
However, the most emotional part of the interview concerned the Albania national team and his twin brother, Stiven. Kristian, who has officially debuted with Albania, did not hide his desire to play together with him on the international stage.
“I think about this every day, it is practically one of my goals, and I talk about it with Stiven too. It would be a dream to come together, to debut and to play a match side by side, just like the Espozito brothers did. I am sure it was a unique experience for them, while my brother and I will try to make the same dream come true. I have no doubt about Stiven; sooner or later, his turn will come with the national team”, the striker declared.
