Ahead of the Barcelona vs Real Madrid super clash, which takes place on Sunday at 21:00, the centre of the Catalan capital has become the stage for a provocative work of art. Well-known street artist TVBoy surprised passersby with a creation featuring two football stars, Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé, warmly embracing and sharing a kiss.
The work immediately drew the attention of residents and tourists, and has also gone viral on social media. Through this creation, the artist conveys a message of peace, sporting brotherhood and mutual respect, showing that the fierce rivalry between the two clubs should not get in the way of human values.
The new installation brings back into focus another famous work by TVBoy, created in 2017 on Passeig de Gràcia boulevard in Barcelona. That mural featured Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, two icons who for years embodied the rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Now, with Yamal and Mbappé representing two of the most important figures in modern football, the new work is seen as a symbol of the transition towards a new era of El Clásico.
